Insomniac Games recently addressed the growing impatience among fans eagerly awaiting news on their upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine for the PS5. The developer has made it clear that any updates will be released only when they’re fully prepared, and they won’t cave under pressure from fans.
During a recent exchange on Twitter, a fan commented about the Spider-Man 2 PC port while criticizing Insomniac for “ignoring” the PS5 community desperate for Wolverine updates. Their remark dripped with sarcasm as they called the studio “Such a great team.”
Generally, Insomniac doesn’t usually engage with tweets like these, but their social media team decided to offer a response this time. “We’ll share news about the game when we are ready to share it,” they replied, underscoring the choice with “we.” They further explained, “That will always be our answer. We can’t act on every request, especially when time, resources, and approval are needed to release information.”
Despite this, Insomniac reassured fans that the Wolverine project is still “actively” in development.
The company has faced challenges, including a major ransomware attack at the end of 2023, which unfortunately led to the leak of significant Wolverine alpha footage. Insomniac expressed its dismay over the breach but assured that the incident hadn’t derailed the game’s development or their plans for its reveal.
Ever since the game was announced back in September 2021, there hasn’t been much in the way of updates. Given the trend of lengthy game development cycles, it may be some time before we get a proper look at what’s in store for Wolverine fans.
