The development team for Vampire Survivors has recently unveiled a new and rather perplexing roadmap. While no official notes have been shared by the game’s publisher and developer, Poncle, they have released a short video showcasing both existing and upcoming updates swirling around like a galaxy.
Since its full launch in October 2022, Poncle has kept Vampire Survivors lively and engaging through six premium DLC expansions and numerous updates, diversifying its roster of characters, weapons, and stages. The latest addition, the Ode to Castlevania DLC, arrived at the end of October 2024, introducing an exciting array of over 20 characters from the Castlevania series, along with more than 40 unique weapons.
In this new roadmap, which lacks a clear chronological order, mentions of Ode to Castlevania and characters like Hammer surface, alongside previously released content like the May Contra-themed Operation Guns DLC and February’s Space 54 free update. While some terms are unmistakably linked to earlier updates, intriguing outliers such as Pyroclasm, West Woods, House, and Final Flight suggest potential new developments. What these terms signify—whether upcoming stages or entirely different updates—remains a delightful mystery, with the social media team engaging players in a quest to decipher these hints.
The enigmatic roadmap’s design seems intentional, with Poncle posting on Twitter, encouraging fans to speculate on what’s next. The game’s social media team has been actively conversing with the community. Although their responses haven’t unearthed much, they do confirm that actual vampires won’t be appearing in the game. In a humorous exchange, a fan proposed a version of Vampire Survivors for a Dance Dance Revolution mat, to which the team replied it “would be pretty epic.” They did confirm, however, that more achievements are on the horizon.
This isn’t the first time Vampire Survivors has rolled out a whirlwind roadmap. Back in December 2023, a swirling yet static roadmap revealed numerous future updates, many of which have joined the 2024 lineup.
