Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is not just slated for PC and console players on February 11th, but for those with a Quest headset, there’s exciting news. Developer Firaxis and publisher 2K Games announced that a unique version of the game is set to hit the Quest platform this Spring.
This exclusive Quest edition is crafted specifically for the Meta Quest 3 and 3S, offering players the experience of building a civilization from a first-person viewpoint. You’ll be able to oversee your empire from above in both virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) modes.
The VR version, a collaborative effort between PlaySide Studios and 2K, promises to deliver engaging gameplay whether you’re going solo or battling it out with friends online. You can enjoy multiplayer matches with up to three fellow Quest 3 and 3S users.
One of the captivating aspects of this release is how it brings the iconic world leaders from the series to life. You’ll stand face to face with these leaders, witnessing their reactions unfold as you strike alliances or wage wars.
As for when you’ll get your hands on this immersive experience, there’s no exact date yet. All we know is the game is anticipated to release in the Spring of 2025, as shared during its reveal at the Civ World Summit over the weekend.
While you wait for its launch, make sure to add Sid Meier’s Civilization VII – VR to your wishlist on the Horizon Store, ready for your Quest 3 or Quest 3S.
