Hello, Trailblazers! The Honkai: Star Rail development team is buzzing with something special for you. It might have been a while, but we are thrilled to share more about version 2.7, titled “A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn,” launching on December 4. This installment marks the closing chapter before the Astral Express heads to the enigmatic realm of Amphoreus, often referred to as the Eternal Land. This update wraps up our adventures in Penacony and sets the stage for the fresh journey awaiting us in version 3.0.
Previously, the storyline led the Crew, prompted by Black Swan, towards Amphoreus—a domain shrouded in mystery, elusive even to the Aeon of the Trailblaze, Akivili. Curious yet cautious, Navigator Miss Himeko has taken it upon herself to collect all possible information on this destination. Meanwhile, the Crew has one last stop in Penacony to reconnect with old friends and make memorable farewells before embarking on their next grand adventure.
### Old Friends Reclaim the Spotlight
Oh, the memories of that performance at the Penacony Grand Theater, as if it were yesterday! Not only has the Astral Express come alive from its slumber, so has Sunday. There’s something undeniably moving about sharing the stage with Mr. Sunday again. Having stepped down as the head of the Oak Family, he’s decided to “Descend to the mortal realm and walk among them. See what this world truly holds.” Forsaking the blessings of Harmony and Order, Sunday’s quest is to pursue his vision of a utopia as a mere mortal. With a little help from a mysterious Pepeshi named Wonweek, he returns to Penacony, seeking one last remarkable performance before launching into a new path. Donning a robe and hood, he’s not just crafting a new look but masking his identity for his final dance in the Planet of Festivities.
Sunday will join us as a 5-star Imaginary character with remarkable Support abilities. His Skill allows an ally to take immediate action, boosting their damage output. If they also have a Summon, both the ally and the Summon can act immediately and enhance the Damage Boost effect further. When Sunday unleashes his Ultimate, he regenerates Energy for an ally, transforming them and their Summon into The Beatified. This grants a halo that boosts their CRIT DMG.
Our old friend Tingyun, now known as Fugue, is another character making a comeback. Once a clever foxian girl, she lost her name, appearance, and identity, though fate has thrown her a fragile lifeline amidst the lingering mark of Destruction. In version 1.2’s main storyline, Tingyun narrowly escaped death after encountering Phantylia, saved by Madam Ruan Mei of the Genius Society who offered her another shot at life. Lately, Himeko and Welt paid a visit to Madam Ruan Mei, taking up the task of bringing Miss Tingyun back home, to rekindle her journey.
Enter Fugue, a 5-star Fire character skilled in supporting allies by reducing Toughness, regardless of an enemy’s Type Weaknesses. While Fugue remains on the field, adversaries find themselves trapped in the Cloudflame Luster state. Once this is reduced to zero, targets suffer Break DMG anew. And when teammates strike Weakness Broken targets, they unleash Super Break DMG. Fugue’s Technique can also be utilized to boost allies’ Break Effect. Her Ultimate hits all enemies with Fire DMG, bypassing any Weakness Type to cut down all enemies’ Toughness directly.
Moreover, we will see the return of limited 5-star characters General Jing Yuan and Firefly during the first and second halves of version 2.7’s warp event. Their robust support capabilities make them unbeatable assets for your upcoming adventures.
### More Gameplay Features for Version 2.7 and Beyond

From a snug bedroom to a handy bathroom, every piece of furniture earned through tasks is like a star in the constellation of your journey’s tapestry.
And here’s something to make your gameplay even more enjoyable: the Relic system is due for an update in version 3.0. By using Wishful Resin along with Self-Modeling Resin, you can dictate both Main and Sub Stats for a Relic at once.
Before wrapping up, we’d like to mention Pom-Pom’s discovery while organizing the Trailblazer’s storage boxes. From the release of version 2.7 right through to version 3.2, players can claim a Gift of the Express, offering them the chance to select a 5-star character of their own choosing. Our expedition continues with both familiar faces and new friends at our side—let’s head out and triumph together!
