Roblox’s CEO, Dave Baszucki, recently addressed parental concerns surrounding potential risks on the platform by offering some straightforward advice: if you’re worried, it might be best to keep your children off Roblox.
In a conversation with the BBC, the co-founder and CEO made it clear that any negative encounter on Roblox is one too many for him. “My main message is simple,” Baszucki stated, “if you’re uncomfortable with it, then it’s probably wise not to allow your kids on Roblox.”
This might seem a bit contradictory at first glance, but Baszucki emphasized the importance of parents making their own judgments when it comes to their children’s activities.
When questioned about reports of negative experiences and inappropriate behavior on the platform, Baszucki responded, “Within our company, we have a zero-tolerance policy. Just one bad incident is unacceptable. We actively monitor bullying and harassment, implementing filters to manage these issues. And when necessary, we’re prepared to involve law enforcement to ensure safety.”
These comments follow reports highlighting misuse by certain individuals on Roblox, prompting the company to strengthen its child safety protocols in response.
