In Blade Chimera, you step into the shoes of Shin, a demon hunter who finds himself afflicted with amnesia. Your unexpected ally in this journey is Lux, a demon who intriguingly transforms into a sword – quite amusing for a demon hunter’s partner, right? Lux is not just a mere weapon; she is an all-around dynamo. Not only can she attack and shield you, but she can also morph into a platform, helping you traverse those tricky, distant spots as you wander through the futuristic cityscape of Osaka.
When you start the game, you’ll guide Shin with either the left stick or D-Pad. Jumping is a breeze with the A button, while the B button unleashes your primary attacks. Expect some variety in the arsenal as the Y button controls your secondary strikes depending on your current gear. With the L button, you dodge enemy attacks, and your specialized skills lie at the whim of the R button, at the cost of some MP.
Lux is not left behind, taking center stage with the X button. Her abilities range from launching attacks to creating protective barriers and even transforming into structures from the past during moments of time distortion. Throw Lux onto walls to clamber onto higher platforms or use her to swing across grapple points, adding a new dimension to platforming. Plus, defeating foes with Lux restores a pinch of your health, a delightful perk as obstacles mount.

Each level boosts your primary stats, equipping you with enhanced attack power and defense to withstand relentless enemy assaults. Keep your eyes peeled in every corner, seeking items that amplify your maximum HP and MP reserves.
With every enemy vanquished, you will also gather financial resources. This treasure trove is pivotal for purchasing critical items like the Life Elixir, Energy Drink, or Miracle Mix – essential for surviving Osaka’s challenging terrain. Refresh your HP by 50 with the Turbo Regenerator or restore MP with the Magic Quencher. You may even buy new weaponry or gear to bolster your strength or financial prowess by selling unneeded loot. Feeling adventurous? Check with HQ for side quests that can further fill your coffers.
Gaining levels also grants precious Skill Points. These are essential for unlocking new abilities in the Skill Unlock menu, accessed with the + button.
