It looks like the hit game “Split Fiction” is on its way to becoming a movie. Variety reports that Story Kitchen is spearheading the project, assembling a team of actors, writers, and a director to bring the game to the big screen. Story Kitchen has an impressive track record, having worked on adaptations for games like “It Takes Two” for Amazon, as well as “ToeJam and Earl,” “Slime Rancher,” and “Vampire Survivors.”
The buzz around this project is already attracting significant interest, with offers reportedly pouring in from several major Hollywood studios.
Since its launch in March, “Split Fiction” has been a runaway success. It hit the ground running, selling a million copies within just 48 hours and doubling that figure by the end of its first week. In a post on Bluesky, Hazelight, the game’s developer, expressed their delight at the overwhelming response, saying, “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing.”
They went on to thank their supporters, both new players and loyal fans, for their excitement and enthusiasm for the game.
Switching gears to their previous project, the film adaptation of “It Takes Two” has some big names attached. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is involved, and the screenplay is being crafted by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, known for their work on “Sonic the Hedgehog.”
