Almost a month has flown by since Monster Hunter Wilds landed on PlayStation 5, and the response from hunters worldwide has been nothing short of incredible. So whether you’re a seasoned veteran or just starting your adventure with Wilds, we hope you’re thoroughly enjoying the experience, even after the credits have rolled, as you continue your hunt in High Rank.
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled to unveil what’s in store with Monster Hunter Wilds’ first Free Title Update.
The mesmerizing Leviathan Mizutsune is making its grand entrance into the Wilds. Known for its graceful yet deadly movements, Mizutsune dances around its prey, attacking with bubbles that can weaken its foes. Get ready to face this returning creature in Monster Hunter Wilds for the first time, and don’t miss out on the stylish new armor sets available for you and your Palico. Also, make sure to tackle an eight-star Tempered Mizutsune. To start your hunt, head over to Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp once you’ve reached Hunter Rank (HR) 21 or above.
A formidable Arch-tempered Rey Dau is set to appear in an Event Quest. Currently, Tempered monsters pose the greatest challenge in Monster Hunter Wilds. But starting April 30, an Arch-tempered monster will test even the best hunters. To take on the Arch-tempered Rey Dau, you’ll need to be at HR 50 or higher. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to forge new Rey Dau γ (gamma) and Felyne Rey Dau γ (gamma) sets.
Ready to face Zoh Shia again? This fierce monster is returning in High Rank with Free Title Update 1. Previously, Zoh Shia was a one-time encounter, but now you can face it repeatedly. Upon reaching HR 50, a new quest awaits you, and materials from your conquest can be used to create brand-new High Rank hunter and Palico gear.
Join others at the Grand Hub, a fresh social space designed for hunters to connect, communicate, and engage in fun activities. Historically a revered place of worship for Suja’s people, it’s also where you might hear the Diva’s melodious singing at night. As part of this community gathering spot, try your skills at Barrel Bowling. By rolling barrel bombs at targets, you’ll score points and win useful items for your hunts.
Arena Quests make a comeback, challenging up to two hunters with predetermined equipment to complete them as quickly as possible. Check your times against others worldwide at the Expedition Record Board.
Dive into limited-time Challenge Quests, offering pendants as rewards. Determined equipment and limited player slots make Challenge Quests similar to Arena Quests, while Free Challenge Quests have no equipment restrictions and support up to four players.
Change up Alma’s outfit at the camp’s Appearance Menu and potentially swap her glasses after completing certain side missions.
In downloadable content news, a free outfit for Alma and classic gestures from the Monster Hunter series will be available at the PlayStation Store after Free Title Update 1. At the same time, Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 will launch for players who have the Cosmetic DLC Pass.
From April 23 to May 7, the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance transforms the Grand Hub, offering new decor, limited equipment, gestures, and pop-up camp decorations.
These highlights are just a taste of the Free Title Update’s content. Stay tuned for more, as another update is slated for May and will include a collaboration with a Capcom game among other features. Free Title Update 2 is due to arrive in the summer. Until then, happy hunting, and we hope you enjoy this preview of what’s to come!
