Capcom has officially announced that its eagerly awaited action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, will have enhancements specifically for the PS5 Pro right from its release. Set to hit shelves on February 28, 2025, the game promises to include a day-one patch that will bring these enhancements into play. While Capcom has kept further details under wraps, they have shared the expected graphics and resolution targets for the console versions.
Set to join the growing roster of PS5 Pro enhanced titles, Monster Hunter Wilds is ready to stand out. In a recent update for the community, Capcom revealed that the standard PS5 version will offer two distinct modes: ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate.’ For those who choose to focus on graphics, resolutions will be set at 3840 x 2160 or 3072 x 1728, running at 30 frames per second. Alternatively, for players prioritizing framerate, they’ll enjoy resolutions of 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080, achieving a smoother 60 frames per second.
Capcom took to social media, specifically on X, to reassure fans that they’ve been diligently working on improvements since the Open Beta Test, targeting issues with rendering that had emerged. They are committed to making continuous enhancements leading up to the game’s official launch.
The open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds did spark some debate, especially regarding performance issues. The PC version seemed to bear the brunt of this, encountering the most noticeable difficulties. Capcom’s previous challenges, like those with Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PS5, did not paint a favorable picture, as even the PS5 Pro patch for that title fell short of expectations. Fortunately, with the PS5 Pro patch for Monster Hunter Wilds being tackled ahead of the release, developers now have sufficient time to iron out any potential issues, ensuring a smoother launch experience.
