Hitman developer IO Interactive has decided to end its collaboration with Conor McGregor, the well-known mixed martial artist.
This announcement came on the heels of a legal development where a woman who had accused McGregor of rape won her civil case against him. Taking to Twitter, IO Interactive explained that they “cannot ignore” the consequences of the court’s decision.
McGregor had been featured in the DLC for Hitman titled The Disruptor.
“In response to the recent court ruling concerning Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has decided to terminate its partnership with the athlete, effective immediately. We are taking this situation very seriously and cannot overlook the implications,” the studio stated.
“We will begin the process of removing all content related to Mr. McGregor from our store platforms starting today,” added IO Interactive on their social media.
