Retro publishers Inin Games have now taken over the publishing rights for Shenmue 3. This move comes hot on the heels of the company’s recent collaboration with YsNet, Shenmue 3’s developer, on the game Air Twister.
Shenmue 3 was a highly anticipated continuation of the much-loved Shenmue series, making its debut in 2019 after being announced way back in 2015. Initially, Deep Silver managed the publishing responsibilities.
In a heartfelt announcement, Inin Games expressed their enthusiasm: “We at Inin Games are truly honored to carry the Shenmue torch forward during this pivotal time in the series’ history.”
They continued, “Reflecting on over twenty years of innovation and passion, we’re committed to keeping and sharing Ryo Hazuki’s journey with both long-time fans and newcomers alike. With this transition, Shenmue’s story is far from concluded. We have exciting plans to celebrate its anniversaries, ensuring the beloved series continues to flourish and inspire. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements as we share our vision for the next chapter in Shenmue’s legacy.”
