Browsing through the latest offerings on the eShop each week, one might wonder if Nintendo enforces any guidelines beyond simply barring Adults Only content.
In May, there was a mysterious vanishing act involving three anticipated game releases, and according to their publisher, they won’t be making a comeback.
Idea Factory International recently revealed that they have scrapped plans to release the localized versions of the Hyperdimension Neptunia Rebirth trilogy, along with the scheduled 2025 localization of Death End re;Quest: Code Z. In their official statement, IFI mentioned, “The 3 Neptunia titles and Death end re;Quest: Code Z for North America and Europe will no longer launch on the Nintendo Switch/Nintendo eShop due to the contents of the Re;Birth series and Death end re;Quest: Code Z not complying with the Nintendo Guidelines.”
Interestingly, the Neptunia games had previously found a home on the PlayStation Vita, earning T ratings from the ESRB. Also on track are the upcoming PlayStation 4 and 5 releases for Death End, which are proceeding as planned.
