The excitement is palpable as the Gran Turismo World Series 2024 reaches its climax in Amsterdam, Netherlands, for the World Finals. After thrilling races in Montreal, Prague, and Tokyo throughout July, August, and September, the leaderboard is fiercely competitive. The action returns to Theater Amsterdam, a venue that many will remember from last year’s World Series Showdown.
As is tradition, the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup kicks off the World Finals weekend at 16:00 CET on Friday, December 7. This event is always fiercely contested, with a mix of seasoned World Series veterans eager to secure an early lead and newcomers looking to make their mark. A total of 24 racers from around the globe will battle it out in two heats, before a Grand Final crowns the 2024 champion.
In the Manufacturers Cup, Team Lexus sits at the top of the points table. However, their star driver Igor Fraga from Brazil, who claimed victory in Montreal, will be absent due to his commitments with Super GT racing in Japan. Stepping in for him is Harald Walsen from Chile. Meanwhile, Team Porsche is looking to close their four-point gap with Lexus, while keeping Team BMW, who are just one point behind them, at bay.
Each team has had one driver represent them in the earlier rounds, but in Amsterdam, the entire team will come together to share the racing duties and strategize collectively. Tune in live at 19:00 CET on Friday to catch the Manufacturers Cup drama unfold.
The Nations Cup takes the spotlight on Sunday, December 8, at 16:00 CET. French racer Kylian Drumont’s perfect performance in Tokyo has propelled him to the top, leading by a mere point over three former champions who are tied for second: Spain’s Jose Serrano, Takuma Miyazono from Japan, who triumphed in Montreal, and Italy’s Valerio Gallo, the victor of Round 2 in Prague.
