Halfbrick Studios, together with Ian Fitz, who originally brought us the popular boxing simulation game back in 2016, has released the highly anticipated sequel, The Thrill of the Fight 2. It’s available right now for those using Quest headsets, including Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Quest Pro, and it’s in Early Access.
This revamped version takes the boxing sim to new heights. The original was all about taking down AI opponents, but this sequel steps into the ring with an exciting online PvP boxing feature, which fans have been eagerly waiting for.
Halfbrick Studios mentioned that this early release is primarily focused on multiplayer action. So if you’ve been itching to face real players online, now’s your chance. They’re also hard at work on enhancing the experience and planning to roll out additional single-player content as well as improvements to multiplayer during the Early Access phase.
Looking ahead to 2025, the developers are aiming to introduce single-player features that include AI competitors who will not only challenge your skills but also adapt their behaviors and looks dynamically. There are also going to be new training modes, among other enhancements. Regular updates will ensure that the game evolves, offering a richer and more immersive boxing experience over time.
Right now, you can personalize your avatar, jump into online matches with skill-based matchmaking, and enjoy the realistic physics that promise to deliver an authentic boxing feel. The game also features a spectator camera, which lets viewers watch your matches with a ‘live sports’ vibe on a connected PC.
If you’re ready to lace up your gloves and get into the action, The Thrill of the Fight 2 is available on the Horizon Store for Quest, priced at a reasonable $10.
