You can now experience the thrill of scaling Mount Olympus in the popular game, Walkabout Mini Golf. This new course is the 32nd addition to the game, coming after the iconic Viva Las Elvis introduced in January. Studio head Lucas Martell mentions that this course surpasses the previous giant-sized Temple At Zerzura from 2023 in scale and complexity.
The developers have crafted a unique golfing adventure, set high above the Aegean Sea, in the legendary realm of the Greek gods. Picture yourself navigating through intricate temples and mythical landscapes, each putt more challenging than the last. As you progress, you’ll need to impress the Olympian Council to earn your victory—or face their formidable wrath!
As you ascend Mount Olympus, you’ll come across various temples adorned with symbols from the Greek pantheon, featuring deities like Zeus, Apollo, and Artemis. I had the privilege of exploring this with Walkabout’s creator, Lucas Martell, during our most extended tour yet, lasting 28 minutes and packed with fascinating behind-the-scenes insights.

In a recent discussion, I spoke with Mighty Coconut’s senior art director, Don Carson, about their design process. Carson elaborated on their commitment to “over-deliver,” using a complex design strategy. The development work is a team effort that stretches over a year as they pass courses between each other in rotation. The studio’s creative team, known as the Coconuts, has grown significantly, now encompassing dozens of talented individuals.
With the success of Elvis, which marked the game’s highest single sales day in nearly five years, it’s exciting to see if players will once again flock to Mount Olympus and maintain this impressive trend.
Walkabout Mini Golf is available on all major VR headsets and iOS, offering plenty of opportunities to dive into this mythical golfing challenge!
