Elon Musk, who famously holds the title of the richest person on Earth, and has recently become quite chummy with President-elect Trump, is plotting his entry into the video game world by launching a game studio.
Musk shed light on these somewhat nebulous plans on X, the social platform he took over back in October 2022. Despite losing users, especially after the US presidential election, he went ahead to express his thoughts. On the morning of November 27, Musk shared his view that “too many game studios […] are owned by massive corporations,” before unveiling that his own corporation, xAI, is diving into the gaming scene with an AI studio aimed at “making games great again.”
xAI describes its mission as “working on building artificial intelligence to accelerate human scientific discovery,” driven by a vision to deepen our understanding of the universe. The company has made waves primarily for Grok, a ChatGPT-style bot available to subscribers of X Premium. Musk established xAI in March 2023.
For those invested in the gaming sphere who have already steered clear of X in search of better prospects, it might still be wise to pay attention to Musk. His connection with President-elect Donald Trump, who has a reputation for supporting his business allies and targeting their adversaries, adds an intriguing twist to the unfolding narrative.
