EA Sports FC 25 has just rolled out an exciting new update called First Frost, bringing a host of changes and additions as the holiday season approaches. This update not only features new content but also addresses major feedback from players who had some grievances with certain aspects of the game.
Releasing substantial updates at this time of year isn’t new for EA. In fact, last year they introduced some quirky red and blue characters in a video showcasing the changes for EA Sports FC 24. Unfortunately for fans of those robotic athletes, they seem to be taking a break this year unless there’s a surprise release later on.
In their recent pitch notes post, EA highlighted that with the First Frost update, they aim to “address community feedback around most areas of the game while bringing a fresh layer of strategy and personalization” to the gameplay. This latest batch of updates brings with it some notable highlights.
Among the standouts are two new FC IQ player roles along with new focuses that will mix up existing ones. Look forward to playing as a “Classic 10” CAM, a traditional attacking midfielder who’s the focal point of your attack, or the “Wide Half” CDM, a defensive player adept at covering the pitch’s sides and aiding in build-up play.
Additional features complementing this update include new Ultimate Team player items, Max Tactics and Winter Match house rules modes for UT friendlies, and two new celebrations inspired by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dusan Vlahović. And for a touch of seasonal flair, there’s a new festive main menu theme.
There’s much more to this update than meets the eye, as various modes and general gameplay aspects have been tweaked based on feedback from the community. For instance, Rush matches in Ultimate Team have been trimmed down to five minutes from the previous seven. Furthermore, improvements like enhanced defensive logic, quicker AI attacker offside awareness, and easing the usage of two-star skill moves should help enhance your gaming experience.
Looking ahead, EA states they are examining aspects like corner scoring, first-time power shots, lobbed through passes, and jog dribbles for future updates. If you’re engrossed in clubs and career modes, keep an eye out for new double XP events, facility improvements, and youth player development tweaks—be sure to delve into the full notes for all these details.
