ASRock’s upcoming Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs have made an online appearance, giving us a sneak peek at their Steel Legend and Taichi custom models.
A Glimpse at ASRock’s RX 9070 Series GPUs Before Their Official Debut
It looks like ASRock is readying an impressive lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, focusing on the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT models. While we haven’t yet seen any "official" images from other AIB partners, ASRock’s GPUs have been revealed online. They include three distinct lineups: Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger. Starting with the Taichi series, this model is set to be ASRock’s flagship, featuring an elegant triple-fan setup and a substantial heatsink, making it a hefty three-slot card.
What’s particularly intriguing about the Taichi variant is the inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector. However, not every model will incorporate this feature, as AMD allows AIB partners the flexibility to choose based on each model’s power needs. The 12V-2×6 connector is designed to support up to 600W, hinting that this Taichi version will be robust in specs and great for overclocking.
Moving on to the Steel Legend variant, ASRock markets this as a solid mid-range option available in stylish white and silver color themes. This model boasts a 2.5-slot triple fan design but skips the 12V-2×6 connector in favor of a standard 2x 8-pin setup. This configuration is typical among AMD’s AIB models, barring some higher-end exceptions like the Taichi.
Concerning the release timeline, you might want to keep an eye out next week, which is when rumors suggest AMD plans to start pre-orders for the RX 9070 series GPUs.
