Resident Evil 4 Remake, the action-horror sensation, has impressively sold over 10 million copies so far. This achievement was highlighted by Capcom on their investor relations page, where they also noted that this title is the franchise’s fastest-selling release to date.
Launched in March 2023, Resident Evil 4 Remake offers a fresh gameplay experience while staying true to the original’s charm. This approach has won the hearts of both longtime fans and newcomers. According to Capcom, the game has not only been well-received by players but has also attracted critical acclaim from the media, winning several awards globally, which has fuelled its strong sales momentum.
Capcom also shared that Resident Evil 7 from 2017 and the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 have collectively sold over 15 million copies. Meanwhile, Resident Evil Village has surpassed 11 million units sold. The Resident Evil 3 remake from 2020 has also reached the 10 million sales mark.
The company attributes this remarkable success to an effective back catalog strategy, and altogether, the Resident Evil series has sold more than 167 million copies since it first appeared in 1996.
