HOOP-O Studios, an emerging indie game developer, has exciting news for fans of mixed reality gaming: their latest creation, a remote-controlled dogfighting game named “Alex and the Jets,” is set to debut on the Quest 3 platform next month.
In this laid-back arcade flying game, you’ll assume the role of Alex the Squirrel, piloting a compact fixed-wing propeller plane. As you soar through the skies, you’ll encounter aerial foes from the notorious ‘The Jets’ gang. These adversaries emerge from portals in your virtual surroundings, compelling you to engage them in combat while navigating through donut-shaped rings that offer power-ups and health boosts.
Beyond the challenges of battle, the game offers a relaxing free roam mode, allowing you to explore your room without the pressure of enemies. For those who thrive on competition, local leaderboards will track your scores, and there’s also a cosmetic store where you can deck out Alex with new outfits.
What’s particularly impressive is the confidence HOOP-O Studios has shown by using gameplay footage captured directly through the Quest 3 headset’s camera in their trailer (check it out below).
While “Alex and the Jets” doesn’t have a concrete release date just yet, HOOP-O Studios aims to launch the game in April on the Horizon Store, making it available for both Quest 3 and Quest 3S users. Keep an eye out for this innovative addition to the mixed reality gaming world!
