XR Games, known for their work on Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded (2024) and Starship Troopers Continuum (2024), is introducing a brand-new rhythm game on Quest called BEATABLE. This game cleverly uses hand-tracking technology to transform any table into your own personal musical instrument.
Blending your real surroundings with the virtual world always adds an extra layer of immersion, allowing you to physically engage with your environment in a way that enhances the experience. Beatable steps things up by enabling your table to become part of your performance. Instead of pressing buttons on a controller, you get to tap, snap, and clap in time with the music using just your hands. This concept of "real-world haptics" brings something fresh that controller-based rhythm games simply can’t match.
Forget about using controllers with this one, because Beatable is all about hand-tracking. The game promises quick calibration for precise and responsive tracking, which is crucial when you’re trying to hit every beat perfectly for those high scores.
Adding to the buzz is VR YouTuber and rhythm action aficionado, Naysy, who has joined forces with XR Games. She’s offering her expertise during development and also features in the game’s trailer, which you might have seen at the top.
“It’s been a while since I’ve been this hooked on a rhythm game. I absolutely adore VR rhythm games, and I feel BEATABLE offers a fresh perspective on the genre,” says Naysy. “The blend of physical interaction with hand tracking just clicks, making it a captivating and immersive experience. I’m head over heels for this game and can’t wait for others to try it out.”
Beatable is set to debut in early access on April 10th, available for Quest 2 and newer models. If you’re eager to dive into the beats, you can pre-order now at a 10% discount, making it available for just $9.
