Cards & Tankards, the free-to-play social VR card experience, is gearing up for something big this month. The creators at Divergent Realities have just confirmed the release of a brand-new expansion. Fans can look forward to the ‘Ashes of Ur-Enku’ dropping soon, packed with exciting new content to revitalize the game.
This social collectible card game, accessible on both flat screens and VR headsets, is expanding its horizons with 50 fresh cards. The update promises diamond animated variants, a slew of new cosmetics, and a revamped season pass. Plus, players can expect some crucial balancing changes along with a reset of ranks.
“Players will be swept away to the wild regions of Ur-Enku,” the studio explained. “Here, the Plundering Guild sets off on a risky quest to hunt fires—a forbidden practice that reveals ancient Dwarven archives buried under years of untamed growth. These mysterious archives hold the key to experiments with Aether, an ancient force of raw power—but tragically, only one explorer will make it back.”
Since its launch nearly two years ago, Cards & Tankards has consistently evolved with a string of updates. The game most recently received Version 2.4 last December, which addressed a range of issues, while Version 2.3 tackled the rebalancing of more than half of the game’s cards. Just last March, players were treated to the ‘Crusade of Sun & Stone’ expansion, culminating with the introduction of a ‘Ranked Mode’ in late 2023.
