At the moment, Pokémon Legends: Z-A remains quite a mystery. What we do know is that it’s poised to be one of the final major titles for the Nintendo Switch. Set entirely in Lumiose City, it plans to reintroduce the fan-favorite Mega Evolutions, which adds an intriguing twist. But aside from these tidbits, Z-A presents a new, unexplored frontier. With only one previous entry in the Legends series, Pokémon Legends: Arceus from 2022, it seems unlikely that Z-A will mimic its predecessor closely.
Arceus focused on capturing Pokémon in a wild landscape, emphasizing the early stages of human and Pokémon coexistence. Meanwhile, Z-A transitions to an urban setting. What’s most thrilling about Z-A is anticipating how Game Freak will define the fundamental elements of a Legends game. As it stands, we have only Arceus as a reference point, and it proved to be one of the standout releases from the series in recent years. The expectations for Z-A are sky-high, and the current air of mystery only adds to the excitement. – Kenneth Shepard
