Game Source Entertainment, in partnership with Tokyo Virtual Theory (TVT), has shared exciting news for gaming enthusiasts: their rhythm-based roguelike adventure, Ratatan, will soon be available on Nintendo Switch.
Fans of Japan Studio and Pyramid’s renowned Patapon series will find Ratatan to be its spiritual successor. The game unfolds on the colorful island of Rataport, which contrasts the serene ocean with its vibrant, toy-like charm. Here, the whimsical Ratatan enjoys a joyful life alongside the Cobun, their unique and diverse companions.
Despite their differences in looks and personalities, all inhabitants of Rataport harbor the same aspiration: to reach The Everafter and encounter The Goddess who resides there. Undeterred by setbacks, they persevere in their quest with unwavering determination.
The development of Ratatan is a collaboration with Hiroyuki Kotani, the producer behind the Patapon series. In this engaging game, you embody Ratatan, wielding magical instruments in sync with the beat to direct the Cobun armies in battles against various foes. When you nail the rhythm sequences, you trigger Fever Mode, where the soundtrack evolves dynamically and characters engage in new actions.
Slated for a digital release globally, Ratatan will make its debut on the Nintendo eShop for the Switch in 2025.
