Alien: Rogue Incursion is making its debut today for PSVR 2 and PC VR headsets, while those using Quest headsets will need to wait until February next year to dive into this Xenomorph-infused horror shooter. Interestingly, the folks at Survios are already hard at work on ‘Part Two’ of the series.
In our thorough review of Part One, we awarded the game a solid [7/10] score, appreciating its immersive atmosphere and gripping narrative. However, we did find the repetitive enemy encounters and unforgiving save system a bit of a drawback.
Clocking in at around eight hours, Part One stands strong as a standalone entry, infused with plenty of Xenomorphs and engaging story elements. Nevertheless, by the end, you’ll definitely be looking forward to the continuation of the action in Part Two.
While details remain somewhat scarce, it looks like we’ll see a refreshing change of pace away from the monotonous Xenomorph mobs featured in Part One. According to Survios, the next installment continues Zula’s journey against more formidable enemies and tougher challenges, with development already in full swing.
For now, the immediate focus is the upcoming release of Part One on Quest, set for February 13th, 2025, exclusively for Quest 3/3S. Packing in all those dynamically loading levels, high-quality textures, and physics-driven interactions onto Quest 3’s mobile chipset seems like quite the feat; this likely explains the release delay.
Regardless, since much of the core mechanics for Part One are already in place, we’re hopeful for a quicker transition to Zula Hendricks’ next (and possibly ultimate) mission to rid the rogue science station of every last hissing Xenomorph.
