The team at Japanese gaming studio Tango Gameworks is pondering over a potential follow-up to their 2023 hit, Hi-Fi Rush. During a chat with IGN, studio head Colin Mack mentioned that they are “considering” a sequel, though he was careful not to promise that anything concrete is underway.
“We are looking at a sequel positively,” Mack shared with IGN. “However, we’re not quite in a position to announce, ‘This is what we’re going to do next.'”
Hi-Fi Rush’s director, John Johanas, chimed in on the conversation. “There’s a lot of love for Hi-Fi Rush among our team,” he said. “That appreciation opens up a lot of possibilities for us. Right now, we’re exploring a variety of opportunities.”
Kazuaki Egashira, the project manager, weighed in on how Tango Gameworks thrives on innovation. “Hi-Fi Rush earned a following as a fresh IP,” Egashira reflected. “However, if it remained stagnant, it would eventually lose its appeal.”
He added, “What defines Tango Gameworks is our drive to tackle new challenges. I aim to keep nurturing a workspace where developers are at the heart of what we do, without losing sight of our passion.”
