After facing significant backlash, PS Stars Wallet funds have made a comeback for numerous players around the world, at least in part. Earlier today, the $5/£5 (or its equivalent) denomination was restored for many gamers internationally. For some folks, this is the sole option that has become available again, while others now see two or more denominations ready for redemption.
Interestingly, PS Stars Wallet funds have reappeared for members regardless of their level and PS Plus subscription status. Several players noticed their Wallet funds rewards reemerged after renewing their PS Plus subscription or when they opted for a PS Plus Premium membership. However, it’s important to note that neither a player’s PS Plus membership status nor their PS Stars level influences the availability of the PS Store credit option.
From a personal standpoint, as a PS Stars Level 4 member with a PS Plus Essential subscription, I never lost access to the £10 Wallet funds reward. But this morning, the £5 option became available for me too. Others, who aren’t active PS Plus members, have also reported seeing the reward appear.
Sony, however, kept quiet about this issue over the past month, leaving players to seek answers from PS Support, where they often received contradictory—and sometimes downright bizarre—responses. As of now, it’s uncertain whether the Wallet funds reward will make a complete return.
On a related note, it seems that as of this morning, Sony has also addressed the issues with the PS Store video game rewards. Players are finally able to redeem their points for games that were previously inaccessible until yesterday.
