Microsoft isn’t planning on announcing the much-anticipated Xbox handheld this year, but there’s a buzz that we might see a reveal by 2025. The idea of an Xbox handheld has been floating around for quite some time, especially after Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, hinted at the possibility earlier this year.
This tidbit comes from the Xbox Two podcast on YouTube, where journalist Jez Corden shared some insights. He mentioned that while there’s a chance of new Xbox hardware being unveiled next year, don’t expect any such surprises at this year’s Game Awards in December 2024.
Corden added, “I don’t think you’re gonna see hardware at The Game Awards, but, I do think next year is a good year for revealing new hardware. Especially hardware you could hold in the palm of your hand.” He also speculated that we might get more information during next year’s June showcase. However, it’s important to remember these are just rumors at the moment, as Xbox hasn’t officially confirmed anything.
